FROM PARENT OF YEAR 6 STUDENT Maths SATs Preparation (September 2023)

I cannot recommend Kirsty highly enough as a tutor. Since beginning her sessions with Kirsty, my daughter has made tremendous strides, both in terms of her mathematical knowledge and her confidence.

Kirsty has a warm and encouraging approach and can break down mathematical concepts into understandable segments, making the learning process much more manageable and less daunting. She really enjoys her sessions with Kirsty

My daughter has really benefited from the supportive and positive learning environment that Kirsty creates. We are incredibly thankful for Kirsty’s guidance, and wholeheartedly recommend her to any family looking for a tutor.

FROM PARENT OF 5 YEAR OLD STUDENT (June 2023)

‘My 5 year old son absolutely loves spending time with Kirsty.  I only stayed in for the first session but I was very impressed with how Kirsty practised with him through play and smart toys all those points which we wanted him to improve. Very grateful!’

FROM PARENT OF A RECEPTION CHILD (April 2023)

My daughter spent some time with Kirsty when starting school as she was the youngest in her year and had limited knowledge of phonics. She absolutely loved the sessions and always came out with a big smile on her face and looked forward to the next one. Her phonics skills improved very quickly and within a few months she was confidently reading. Lots of focus on making learning fun. I would definitely recommend teatime tutoring. Thank you Kirsty!

FROM PARENT OF ENTRANCE EXAMS STUDENT (September 2022)

Kirsty is the ‘Mary Poppins’ of teaching! I sat with my 11 year old, George, for his first lesson and we were both blown away by her kindness, professionalism and natural ability to teach. I now sit in the car while the lesson is taking place, knowing that my son is on the receiving end of A1 teaching. How lucky are we that she is down the road and can really help George with his creative writing and other areas he struggles with. He really looks forward to her lessons, Kirsty really makes her lessons fun and George comes away with more knowledge and more confidence in the difficult subject that is English.

FROM PARENT OF A YEAR 2 CHILD (August 2022)

My son has been visiting Kirsty since summer 2021, before starting year 2. He was lacking confidence in himself and was behind in year 1 after the tricky couple of years during Covid.

Since seeing Kirsty, his confidence has increased massively, and his reading, writing and maths has seen an enormous improvement!! He’s now very much ready for starting Junior School in September.

My son openly says he hates learning at school, but he thoroughly enjoys his lessons with Kirsty, he’s always eager to go back the following week, and I always pick him up with a big smile on his face!

Kirsty is kind, caring and fun! She always makes us feel so welcome in her home. Thank you

FROM PARENT OF YEAR 3 STUDENT (February 2022)

We began my son’s tutoring with Kirsty in January 2020. We had faced difficulties during lockdown with his motivation and willingness to read. Working with Kirsty, initially via zoom and then face to face, his confidence and proficiency has grown and he continues to make great progress. He enjoys attending his tutoring sessions and is keen to tell us what he’s covered. Kirsty does a great job of making the sessions fun and adapts them based on his interests and provides us with regular updates on how he’s progressing. We would highly recommend Teatime tutoring.

FROM PARENT OF YEAR 3 STUDENT (January 2022)

My daughter started with teatime tutoring after the first few lockdowns to help her feel confident about being back in school. Kirsty was a delight. My daughter was 7yrs old and she absolutely loved her lessons with Kirsty. As a parent, Kirsty listened to my concerns for my daughter and established a programme of work that I felt happy about. At the end of each lesson, she also made sure she gave me an overview of what was covered and any work to complete during the week. I would absolutely recommend Kirsty to any parents looking for a tutor for your child. You won’t regret it.

FROM ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE STUDENT (December 2021)

I am a new immigrant from Hong Kong. Kirsty was an excellent teacher and helped me with a lot of pronunciation and speaking native English.

FROM YEAR 4 NATIONAL TUTORING PROGRAMME STUDENT (April 2021)

I wanted to thank you for the lessons you gave to Sofia during lockdown. They were brilliant and she learnt a lot, giving her confidence when she returned to the classroom.

FROM PARENT OF HOME EDUCATION STUDENT AGE 6 (January 2021)

I would highly recommend Kirsty. My 6 year old simply did not enjoy English, however a few sessions with Kirsty and he is now much more amenable with the subject and actually looks forward to his lessons with Kirsty. Thank you Kirsty!

KEY STAGE 1 PUPILS (November 2020)

We like to go to Kirsty’s school better than real school.  We were so excited when our reading had got good enough that we could read the clues on the treasure hunt she made for us.  Going to Kirsty’s lessons is fun.

FROM PARENT OF YEAR 2 PUPILS (October 2020)

Kirsty has tutored our boys for 4 months now and we are so lucky to have found her. Their learning has really excelled and they have gained so much more confidence, especially with reading.  Kirsty makes their learning fun so they are always eager to go and they want to work hard for her.  She is incredibly kind, patient and supportive. We can’t thank Kirsty enough.

FROM PARENT OF YEAR 4 PUPIL (September 2020)

I hired Kirsty to help my eldest son build up his confidence with KS2 maths, especially his number bonds and multiplication. Over the last few weeks I have definitely noticed an improvement with my son’s mathematical ability and confidence, and having 1 on 1 tutoring has worked wonders.
Importantly, Kirsty is always friendly and approachable and this has been key to building up this relationship with my son.
I would definitely recommend Kirsty to anyone looking for that extra bit of help with tricky maths.

FROM GRANDMA OF YEAR 1 PUPIL (July 2020)

My grandson loves his sessions with Kirsty. They have reignited his love of learning in these difficult times with no formal schooling.

FROM PARENT OF YEAR 2/3 PUPILS (March 2020)

Kirsty has been tutoring both of my children who are in year 2 &3 respectively. There has been such a marked improvement in the short time they’ve been tutored and it’s evident in the children’s work and their approach. My daughter in particular dreaded maths but now her confidence has soared.

We recently had parents evening and their maths teacher commented on the improvement.

Kirsty is warm and friendly and the children thoroughly enjoy and look forward to going for their lessons. They also speak excitedly of what they have learnt when they come home. As parents who have used a few tutors, Kirsty definitely stands out, she is excellent and very experienced. I can’t recommend her enough!!
